The Daily Mirror are reporting that Wigan Athletic striker Hugo Rodallega could be on his way to Arsenal, but Latics fans shouldn't worry, well according to the newspaper they shouldn't because West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie is the subject of firm interest and contact has been made between the Latics and the Baggies.
Arsene Wenger, say the Mirror, is a long standing admirer of Rodallega and he is apparently set to make an offer for the Colombia international who is in the last year of his current contract at the Latics.
The Mirror go on to say that West Brom sporting director, Dan Ashworth has been contacted by the Latics to register their interest in the Nigeria international forward who banged in 15 goals in his debut season at the Hawthorns.
West Brom have signed Reading striker Sean Long for £6.5 million this week and with chairman Jeremy Peace being well known for his thriftyness maybe a deal could be in the offing. Though I can't see the Latics paying what West Brom would want for Odemwingie.

Well I guess the newspapers were right after we've recently had a bid rejected for him!
I would love him here at Wigan and wouldn't mind it if it meant Rodallega going, I love him and he's done a lot for us but I do think Odemwingie is the player who would take those chances that Rodallega didn't last year and put away our chances that we create a lot of. Alternatively, if he does stay I think Bobby might use Rodallega on the wing with Odemwingie upfront.
I personally think he'll join. He wasn't in the WBA squad at all today because he was apparently 'injured' but so was Fabregas and Nasri for the pre-season game against Benfica and let's be honest, they're on their way. Also, with the signing of Long and them only playing one upfront then I can't see him playing second fiddle there.
Come on Whelan, bring him to Latics!

He's in the final year of his contact (as is rodallega). I Would love to see him up top however having said that, I was very impressed by Di Santo and hope to see him start vs Swansea on saturday!

Rumour has it that we've renewed a bid for Odemwingie according to The Mirror. Hopefully it's true and can sign as soon as possible.

Maybe not, signed a new contract extension at WBA today. Mind you, contracts mean jack these day, just look at Chimbonda when he was with us, signed a new deal and was gone that summer.
